Call for Testing the Usability of the ASSESS DHT Process and Tools for Assessing Digital Health Technologies (DHTs)

The ASSESS-DHT project has developed an overarching framework of criteria and guidance for the evaluation of DHTs that could be applied to a variety of technologies, incl. mHealth, AI-based health technologies, and telehealth. The framework is operationalised in the form of an assessment manual, an assessment process via evidence requests, supported by multi-stakeholder tools aimed at guiding the generation and evaluation of evidence.

Participants selected under this call will act as early adopters of the ASSESS DHT framework, contributing to its refinement through structured usability testing and expert feedback. They will be introduced to different elements of the framework, asked to review/test them, and provide feedback to the ASSESS DHT consortium.

Participants are expected to:

  • assess the clarity, feasibility, and usability of different HTA processes and supporting tools
  • identify strengths and gaps
  • provide constructive suggestions to the ASSESS-DHT consortium for improvement

Eligible participants include two primary groups: DHT developers and HTA organisations.

DHT Developers:

  • Developers of digital health technologies, who are interested in understanding and testing HTA-related evidence requirements for DHTs
  • Technologies at any stage of development or deployment

HTA Organisations:

  • HTA bodies or HTA-related organisations with national/regional mandate to perform health technology assessments (incl. hospital-based assessments)
  • Having an interest in or exposure to the evaluation of DHTs
  • Prior hands-on experience with DHT assessments is desirable but not mandatory
