Fundación Progreso y Salud

The Progress and Health Foundation (Fundación Progreso y Salud, FPS), an organization belonging to the Andalusian Public Sector and is the central entity for the support and management of research within the Andalusian Public Health System. Its role is to effectively promote research and innovation in Health. FPS participates in this project through a collaboration between two of its teams. The Health Technology Assessment Agency (AETSA) is in charge of supporting healthcare decision making related to health technologies in the region of Andalusia (Spain) and beyond (through its participation in national and international HTA networks), to improve health outcomes, the quality and equity of the Andalusian Health Services and the sustainability of the system. The Data Science Lab has the mission of promoting the ethical, secure, and efficient use of clinical and biomedical research data, by developing analytical solutions, predictive models, and clinical decision support systems (AI-CDSS).

Role in the project

The Fundación Progreso y Salud (FPS) holds the scientific co-leadership of ASSESS-DHT. Their HTA Area (FPS-AETSA) will lead the workstream of the project that will result in a new assessment framework for digital health technologies. As part of that work, their Data Science Lab will produce a set of innovative Real-World Data validation methods for AI-based decision support systems.
